Overview

Hydroponics Africa has been pioneering hydroponic farming technology in Kenya and broader Eastern Africa since 2012. Hydroponic farming is essentially growing crops using mineral nutrient solutions in water without soil. Although hydroponics relies primarily on water, the system is efficient in managing the resource. Hydroponics systems use less water (upto 80% less than conventional farming methods), less space (30% of conventional farms), less pesticides, less fertilizer, produce higher yields (upto 30%). This makes it a good climate smart agriculture solution.
